SNAP Launches “Making Sponsorship HERstory” Campaign to Empower Women’s and Girls’ Clubs Across the UK
SNAP Sponsorship has today announced the launch of its new national campaign, SNAP: Making Sponsorship HERstory, which aims to empower women’s and girls’ clubs across the UK to grow their funding, strengthen community partnerships, and build long-term sustainability through sponsorship.
The campaign provides free access to the SNAP Sponsorship platform for women’s and girls’ teams, made possible thanks to the generous support of a SNAP funding partner. This initiative removes financial barriers for clubs and gives volunteers, coaches, and managers the professional tools and guidance they need to secure, manage, and retain sponsorship income more effectively.
Empowering clubs to grow on and off the field
SNAP Sponsorship specialises in providing the technology and methodology that help grassroots clubs to secure, manage and retain sponsors with confidence. The platform enables clubs to create professional sponsorship profiles, connect directly with local and national businesses, and manage every partnership in one place.
The Making Sponsorship HERstory campaign is designed to make those tools accessible to as many women’s and girls’ clubs as possible, helping to close the funding gap and support the continued growth of opportunities for women and girls in sport at all levels.
Hannah Verlander, Customer Success Manager at SNAP Sponsorship, said:
“I first got involved in sport when I played cricket for the Essex Women’s youth teams. Since then, I’ve remained involved in the game, helping to run my own club. I’ve witnessed the positive impact sport can have on people, the opportunities it can bring and the confidence it creates – both on and off the field. However, to keep that impact alive, ongoing funding is essential. At SNAP, we’re incredibly proud to be launching the ‘SNAP: Making Sponsorship HERstory’ campaign to help level the playing field for women and girls across the country.”
Mark England OBE, former Olympic leader and Chef de Mission for Team GB across multiple Games, added:
“We’re seeing incredible progress for women’s and girls’ sport, but there’s still work to do to create real equality of opportunity. The SNAP: Making Sponsorship HERstory campaign is a powerful step in that direction, giving clubs free access to the tools and support they need to unlock sustainable funding. I’m proud to be joining SNAP as a Strategic Advisor and to support this initiative, which represents such positive and lasting change for women’s and girls’ sport.”
Delivered in partnership
The campaign will be supported through a network of delivery partners, including National Governing Bodies, County Organisations, Leagues, and regional sport organisations. These partners will help distribute the campaign across their club networks.
Mark Covington, CEO of SNAP Sponsorship, added:
“With England’s triumphs in the Women’s Football Euros and Women’s Rugby World Cup, and with the Women’s Cricket World Cup now underway, we are witnessing the rise of women’s sport right in front of our eyes. It’s inspiring, it’s long overdue — but the truth is, it’s still not a level playing field for women and girls.
As a parent, I see the disparity of opportunity first-hand through my own daughter, and it’s both frustrating and motivating in equal measure. Across the UK, there are so many amazing people working tirelessly to make a difference — volunteers, coaches, parents, and community leaders who refuse to accept the status quo. They are the driving force behind change.
We know there’s still a long way to go, but SNAP is committed to being part of that journey for the long term. We’re here for the distance, proud to stand alongside our partners, and determined to help make sponsorship HERstory. We also recognise that many of the challenges that make the playing field uneven can be unlocked through access to funding and opportunity. That’s why we believe sponsorship is not just important — it’s essential to creating lasting, meaningful change for women and girls in sport.”
