How Hinckley Town Tennis Club Raised £2,500 in 4 Months with SNAP

Hinckley Town Tennis Club is a four-court club in Hinckley, named the Midlands Region Tennis for All Tennis Club of the Year (and the National Runner Up!) in 2024. Founded in 1959, the community-driven club now serves 210 members, offering coaching programmes for all ages, pay-and-play sessions for adults, and inclusive activities for all. And thanks to their partnership with SNAP, Hinckley Town Tennis Club has seen major growth in the last 4 months.

The challenge

Hinckley Town Tennis Club had a vision. Their goal: to be more than a well-equipped tennis facility, becoming the driving force for social inclusion in sport in Hinckley and beyond, creating a space where people of all ages and abilities feel welcome to join in.

But to realise this vision, the club needed support to cover the costs of LTA-approved floodlighting, court upkeep, sheltered community spaces, and inclusive programmes. And with his hands full keeping the club running smoothly, Chairman Neil Roberts said he “didn’t have the time, nor the organisation, nor the technical help” to build lasting relationships with local sponsors. With a word-of-mouth approach, they’d gained a few connections with previous donors, but had little to no ongoing financial support to reach their growth goals.

How SNAP
helped forge
new community
connections

Hinckley Town Tennis Club brought the dream, SNAP brought the strategy they needed to achieve it, working closely with the team to implement the platform and open the door to new opportunities. From starting conversations to writing up contracts, Neil and his team have been able to connect with bigger brands and more sponsors than ever before. And with SNAP’s guidance, Hinckley Town Tennis Club can do more than simply ask for support – they make it mutual, creating different sponsorship packages that benefit each of their partners.

Here’s how SNAP was able to help the club do more than raise more funds:

  • Customised packages for better brand visibility

From kit to courtside banners to awards sponsorships, SNAP helped Hinckley Town Tennis Club design customised sponsorship packages that offered real value to local businesses, including CSR opportunities. Sponsors also benefit from frequent promotion across the club’s social media channels, which boast over 1,200 followers.

  • Community engagement

Hinckley Town Tennis Club is driven by community, and SNAP has helped them attract businesses that value community involvement, too. They’ve been able to extend their outreach, visiting schools and organisations, strengthening community ties and showcasing what tennis is all about.

  • Smooth processes

One of the biggest benefits for both the club and the sponsors has been SNAP’s ease of access, intuitive interface, and built-in features for contract writing and beyond. The feedback from both sides emphasised clear communication and a streamlined process from start to finish.

It's given me a great deal of confidence – how to have those conversations and how it is a mutual two-way street, having that relationship between a club and a sponsor. So that confidence [SNAP has] given me to have those conversations is massive.

The key results

After just 4 months on SNAP, Hinckley Town Tennis Club has gained the confidence they need to form new partnership connections and increased their sponsorship revenue by over £2,500.

It’s not just about funding equipment, it’s about being part of something bigger. That’s the message we’re delivering now, and people are responding.

Strengthening community inclusion

Hinckley Town Tennis Club now has the resources they need to succeed. With the partnerships they’ve made and the revenue they’ve gained, they can upgrade their facilities, offer award-winning inclusive sporting activities, and continue their positive impact on the community.

As a result, Hinckley Town Tennis Club has been able to fulfill its growth initiative. And with SNAP’s continued support, they can plan even more events for the community, including Holiday Camps, adult sessions, and coaching programmes for all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

One of the sponsors of charity has paid for a lovely plaque on the wall of our wellbeing hub. The benefit to that is not just financial, it's that relationship between both parties, as well.

Ongoing growth
and support

Hinckley Town Tennis Club continues to grow – raising their revenue, forming new sponsorship connections, and building long-term relationships with local businesses and charities that align with their community values. With increasing local support, stronger community ties, and SNAP’s strategic sponsorship model on their side, the club’s future is brighter, and their community more connected than ever.
