Loughor Centurions Touch Rugby Ramp Up Funding with SNAP
Loughor Centurions Touch Rugby are a young Swansea club that’s growing fast, but their outdated approach to sponsorship had them scrambling to keep their kids kitted and their pitch in good repair. Thanks to SNAP, they’re raising funds faster than ever before, and their manager, Gethin Harries, can look to the club’s future rather than making ends meet with sporadic funding.

“Instead of aimlessly wishing to engage with certain companies, we’re a lot more confident that we’re delivering our pitch in a more professional manner, with the key asks and message.”
The challenge
Loughor is a grassroots touch rugby club that gives women, men, and youth the chance to get involved and play for their community.
But like many communities, families in Swansea have been hit by cost-of-living increases that make it tougher to pay for activities and gear. The club had always relied on personal donations from their team members, but fewer hands were reaching into their wallets, and the club faced mounting costs for kit and equipment.

How SNAP
helped Loughor
find sponsors in
the community
By using SNAP, the Loughor Centurions have been able to stop asking their players for handouts and start creating a forward-thinking approach to year-on-year sponsorship the club can build upon.
-
Gain professional fundraising guidance
Soliciting sponsorships to build a young club can be overwhelming, but with SNAP, Loughor’s never alone. SNAP’s team of dedicated pros have helped the club set up their landing page, create branded PDFs explaining their sponsorship packages, and add more structure to their fundraising efforts.
-
Boost their visibility online
Before using SNAP, Loughor relied on its social media accounts to work overtime as its only online presence. Now, SNAP has provided a professionally designed landing page for their team, complete with sponsorship packages and downloads that help position the team as a sound investment for potential sponsors.
-
Showcase the benefits of sponsorship
Like many clubs, Loughor didn’t have a way to prove the benefits of sponsorship to local businesses. But SNAP’s built-in ROI features have given them a better way to showcase the direct benefits that supporting their club has for sponsors.

“Previously, the perception would be that the ‘ask’ is about our club, asking for finances to support our team, training, kit, travel, etc. Whereas, (with SNAP), sponsors have a better understanding of the benefit for them, and also the community benefit for them as well.”
The key results
SNAP has accelerated Loughor’s fundraising pace. In three years, they raised just £2,000. But since joining SNAP, they’ve secured over £600 in just four months.

“With SNAP, we’ve 3 sponsorships worth over £600 in just 4 months.”
Pitching with a stronger “ask”

SNAP helped Loughor shift its approach from simply asking for donations to proposing mutually beneficial partnerships. This reframing turned conversations from pleas for support into strategic discussions about local business involvement and community impact.

“Instead of aimlessly wishing to engage with certain companies, we’re a lot more confident that we’re delivering our pitch in a more professional manner, with the key asks and message.”

Undeniable ROI
for sponsors
For Loughor, SNAP’s built-in ROI feature has helped them translate the benefits of sponsorship into real (and persuasive) numbers for sponsors. Adding branding to kit and gear means that the club can update their equipment and the sponsors can enjoy the spoils of better visibility for their business, a win-win combo that’s propelling Loughor to new heights as a club and as a community organisation.

“We’ve got 100 people walking around the local area with a top that’s branded for our sponsors. Now, we’ve got clarity on the benefit of that.”
